Exploring with a nervous grip
Hesitating… fearfully immobile
Unsure… beginning to slip
Mother has heard chattering whimpers
Her instincts guide caring eyes
Approaching with a heroic stride
Surveying cautiously… maternally wise
Nape grasping… young one hugging
Climbing upward to comfort nest
Releasing gently and reassuring
Freeing uncertainty… safe at rest
